Richard, your doctor reminds me of MY doc up this way. I was seeing him for bad back pain and he was going to prescribe vicoden. He told me that after the first week, I'd have to get a drug test so he could continue to prescribe. I told him up front that I smoked MJ from time to time to deal with the pain ect. He said what I did in my own home with my own husband was MY business, and he was fine with that.

The second week came and I had to get the drug test. So I went and took it. He called me into his office two days later and told me I was no longer welcome there because I had both cannibiniods and morphine in my system. I said "Well I told you about the cannibis, and YOU prescribed the morphine (vicoden). He wasn't hearing and and just threw me out of his office. Whatever! Glad they have clinics where you are. I *thought* that was how the doctors would react. So glad you found someone who would write you the script! {{HUGS}}

Thanks Richard! I joined your group as well :-) I want to stay updated on the current laws and what's going on. I am hoping for decriminalization soon. Hopefully in the next 2 years. We will probably be the last state in the country to legalize though!

What I really want to know is, how do the doctors react? When you have been seeing them for chronic pain and the law passes and you go back and ask for the script? Are they willing and nice about it? {{{HUGS}}} I'll be reading through the articles on your group!

I've only been "up North" once. My husband, older son, and I spent a week camping, and I mean a tent and bags, in Mackinaw. We went to the island once, on Saturday. The rest of the time, we kicked around "town" and went exploring through the U.P.

I'm in SE MI, about 24 miles North of Detroit. Tiny place called Shelby Twp.
